SMS-Activate has shut down, and DaisySMS too: what happened and where the numbers went
The two best-known names of the SMS verification market closed within months of each other. What their own sites say, and who is still selling.

What the sites say
Open sms-activate.org today and the page is a notice, in Russian: the service is closed, operations stopped completely on 22 December, withdrawals were possible until 5 February, and the technology went to a service called HeroSMS. The notice adds that any service now calling itself SMS-Activate is a fraud, and that questions go to an email address until 30 April with an answer time of up to seven days.
DaisySMS is shorter about it: the homepage states that DaisySMS shut down on 26 March 2026, that users with a balance were emailed, and that questions go to a support address.
Who is still selling
Of the services in this database on the read date, 5SIM answers a keyless price API for 153 countries, SMSPool publishes a pricing feed for 158, GrizzlySMS prints price and stock per country on its homepage, Textverified sells United States numbers from $0.25, and SMSBower renders its list in a browser. The reviews carry the prices with the date they were read.
Several others could not be read from our side at all on the read date: SMS-Man, SMSHub and Temp-Number answer a non-browser reader, and a browser on our server, with a Cloudflare challenge. They are not reviewed until a page of theirs can be quoted.
